We would like to give a big shout-out to Lt. Sarah Burgin for participating in a peer support group training. She and other members attended a training in Boone County yesterday to launch a peer support group in Hancock County, this will enhance the support for our fire and police personnel. Thank you, Lt. Burgin, for promoting the mental well-being of our first responders.
‼️ Save the date ‼️ Saturday, October 19th, will be our community night. We’ll be posting a sign-up sheet in the coming weeks to reserve your trunk or treat spot. This year’s event promises to be exciting, so stay tuned for more details. It’s an event you won’t want to miss.
HANCOCK COUNTY — The black smoke coming from an old structure in the west end of the county could be seen from miles away flowing into the blue and cloud filled sky Wednesday morning.
Recently, Buck Creek Township Fire Department engaged in a live burn training, made possible by the generosity of the developers who provided the property. We are grateful for their contribution and also appreciate the understanding of the nearby residents, who recognize the importance of such training for the safety of the community.
We would like to give a big shout out to Hitachi as they have donated a large amount of school supplies to Mt. Comfort Elementary School.
Please be aware of an increase in fire personnel and smoke in the area of 500W and 300N. Training is scheduled to start around 9 a.m. and will continue until the burn is complete. Fire personnel will be on scene throughout the morning and afternoon. If possible, please avoid the area to ensure our firefighters can train safely.Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
