Arnett/Lowder

4968 West 300 North

 

Located in section seventeen on the north side of 300 north between 400 and 500 west. The two-feet-thick concrete wall enclosing the cemetery was built from funds provided by the will of William Arnett.   Scan the QR for additional information and contact Buck Creek Township to purchase a plot.

Burris/Hendricks

1496 North 600 West

The Burris/Hendricks/Hendrickson Cemetery is in section twenty-five of Buck Creek Township located on 600 West about halfway between 100 and 200 North. The entrance to the lane leading to the cemetery extends west from 600 West.  The cemetery is not easily found and not accessible by car but is worth the half mile walk.

Eastes

2609 North Sparks Road

The Eastes-Harvey Cemetery is in section nineteen located on Sparks Road which turns south from 300 North about a half-mile east of 600 West. it may also have been known as the Craig Cemetery.

Located in section thirty-five located on the east side of Buck Creek Road about a half-mile north of Highway 40.

Griffith

2573 West 100 North

The Fish Cemetery is in section thirty-five located on the east side of Buck Creek Road about a half-mile north of Highway 40. Overlooking Sugar Creek, the cemetery is the final resting place of Buck Creek Township’s early settlers.

Steele

4336 West 400 North

The Steele Cemetery is in section eight located on 400 North that dead ends into the Indianapolis Regional Airport. It is on a hill on the north side of the road east of Buck Creek.

Scotton

6600 West Whispering Way

Scotten Cemetery is in section twenty-five marooned in a cornfield on 200 North about three-quarter mile west of 600 west. 6600 West Whispering Way (Block B)

Located in the center of Heron Creek housing development, located right off of I-70 1912 N Clearwater Dr, Greenfield, IN 46140

Pleasant Grove

5442 North 500 West Lower Parcel

The Pleasant Grove Cemetery is in section six located on 500 West less than a half-mile north of 500 North.

Buck Creek Township Owned Cemeteries: All deeds on file at the Township and with the Hancock County Recorder

Purchase of plots or request to bury: When making any cemetery arrangements at any of Buck Creek Township owned cemeteries, the Township requires appropriate documentation for the burial plot. Once this information is received, we will review and respond within 24 hours with written consent to bury. We will need the plot location, receipt of sale, type of plot (single, double, or family), as well as the type of grave liner. Vaults along with Urn Vaults are required for each burial in accordance with all appropriate documentation.

All purchases of plots should come from the deeded cemetery owner to be valid.

Certificate of insurance: Before any work is done in any of the Buck Creek Cemeteries a certificate of insurance must be presented to the Township Trustee along with a description of the work to be preformed. Examples are digging a grave, pouring a foundation, placing stones, any repair work. At that time, the Trustee approve or deny and sign off on the request.

Permission to clean and restore monuments: Please contact the Trustee’s office to obtain the form to authorize permission to clean and restore any of the monuments in any Buck Creek Township cemetery. These requests can be emailed to [email protected].
